Polytech Lille actively promotes international mobility. It offers students the chance to develop their ability to adapt to new situations and cultures while broadening their scientific, technical and linguistic knowledge abroad.
The school has thus developed partnerships with institutions recognized for the quality of their engineering programs and their research.
Every year, Polytech Lille welcomes exchange students with at least two years of undergraduate studies either through exchange programs, or as part of a degree program.
An exchange student is a student of a partner university outside France who spends a limited period of time (a semester or a full academic year) at Polytech Lille through a partnership program or bilateral agreements and who is not pursuing a degree at Polytech Lille .
Thanks to programs such as Erasmus +, BCI (Québec, Canada), Brafitec (With Brazil), Arfitec (with Argentina), Mexfitec (with Mexico) and bilateral agreements (with India, Chile, Marocco..), students can come to Polytech Lille for one or two semesters to attend academic courses in our different engineering curricula or carry out a research project supervised by a researcher of Polytech Lille.
Although an exchange student does not get a qualification from Polytech Lille, all academic results are fully recognized by both partner institutions. An agreed number of ECTS credits is established before arrival, and on completion, an official transcript of records is sent to the student’s home university. Polytech Lille has adopted the ECTS sytem (European Credit Transfer System).
The academic workload for a semester is equivalent to 30 ECTS credits and 60 ECTS for a full academic year.
All our engineering courses are taught in French. A minimum B1 level is required (according to the Common European Framework of Reference Languages).
Projects / Thesis Work /Research placements

Many academics of Polytech Lille are carry out their research activities in the research laboratories of Lille 1 University. Therefore it is possible to welcome students from our partner universities for a research project supervised by a researcher of Polytech Lille within the Erasmus + program or within our bilateral agreements.
The project may be carried out in the school building or in a research laboratory of Lille 1 campus.
If you are interested, please send the following documents by e-mail to international@polytech-lille.fr
- a cover letter in English or French explaining clearly your research interest, your current studies and the requirements of your home institution (assessment of the project, duration, ….),
- a CV in English or French,
- a copy of your transcripts of record
The research laboratories are autonomous in their choice of candidates.
The international office of Polytech Lille will forward your request to the academic coordinator of the department you are interested in.
If your request is accepted and a supervisor is ready to welcome you, the international office of Polytech Lille will arrange your arrival.
