Le Bâtiment et les Travaux Publics (BTP) représentent un secteur d’activités très important tant en France que dans le monde.

Guidé par des impératifs environnementaux et par l’adoption de nouvelles technologies, ce secteur est en évolution et nécessite des ingénieurs à la fois avec des bases théoriques, scientifiques et techniques solides, mais également formés pour s’adapter à des problématiques ou contraintes nouvelles.
L’ingénieur Génie Civil s’insère naturellement dans ce contexte aussi bien en construction neuve que pour les opérations de plus en plus nombreuses de rénovation ou réhabilitation ou pour la gestion et l’entretien d’ouvrages.
Il est notamment capable d’appréhender la diversité des structures, de gérer les différentes phases et d’interagir avec les acteurs de la construction (assistance à la définition des besoins du client, pilotage et coordination d’opérations, conception et dimensionnement des ouvrages, réalisation, …) ou encore d’intégrer les nouvelles réglementations et techniques constructives et aussi les nouveaux matériaux.

Stages

Tout au long de leur cursus, les élèves ingénieurs doivent effectuer des stages en France ou à l’étranger. Leur durée dépend de l’année de l’étudiant en cycle ingénieur.

Les stages dans le cursus ingénieur

Une 5e année diversifiée

Les élèves de dernière année (sous statut étudiant) peuvent rester en formation initiale ou opter pour un contrat d’apprentissage.

Ils ont également la possibilité d’effectuer des doubles diplômes :

Avec l’IAE, un Master 2 Management des Entreprises Technologiques et Industrielles

Avec le M2 mention Génie civil (3 parcours possibles) de l’Université de Lille (uniquement pour les étudiants et non les apprentis)

Avec la faculté du Quebec-Chicoutimi (Canada).

Ils peuvent aussi choisir de partir pour un semestre à l’étranger. Enfin, certains peuvent également affiner leur parcours dans une autre école du réseau Polytech.

Double diplômes

Université de Liège : Ingénieur-Architecte

Ce double diplôme est accessible à l’issue de la seconde année du cycle ingénieur. Accessibilité sur concours (examen du dossier et oral).
Durée des études à Liège : 3 ans (1 an de mise à niveau en architecture suivi de 2 ans avec les étudiants architectes de Liège).
Le diplôme d’ingénieur Génie Civil de Polytech Lille est obtenu à l’issue des trois ans de formation validés à Liège.

Université de Lille : M2 mention Génie civil

(3 parcours possibles) — En dernière année, uniquement pour les étudiants et non les apprentis.

IAE Lille : Master 2 Management des Entreprises Technologiques et Industrielles

Ce cursus, se déroulant sur 18 mois, vise à offrir aux élèves ingénieurs en dernière année une formation complète au management stratégique et opérationnel.
